The role We are looking for a new Accountant to be part of our Finance team. We need someone who wants to lead the accounts payable function; an Accountant who can work autonomously and as part of a team, assisting with finance and reporting. This is a multi-purpose role for someone who enjoys the challenges of moving from task to task, changing priorities and seeing the impact of their work. From keeping financial records up-to-date and data entry to cheque runs and processing expense claims, you are the link in making sure that the function is working effectively. We are looking for enthusiastic team members who can grow as we grow. Our new Accountant will: Own the work. Your work will focus on executing the accounts payable function for the finance team. Support. You will work closely with vendors to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices and answer all pertaining inquiries. Process. You will process customer and vendor invoices in Great Plains. Manage. You will oversee the PO process, ensuring employee expenses are processed timely and accurately. You will complete month-end journal entries for expenses. Prepare. You will prepare GL reconciliations. Verify. You will ensure compliance with established internal controls. Improve. You will participate in process improvement initiatives including: Processes to streamline workloads Opportunities to enhance efficiencies Close. You will assist with month-end, quarterly-end and year-end closing. Budget. You will help the Corporate Controller prepare annual budgets. Audit. You will assist external auditors with their requests and support the process. Learn. You will enthusiastically learn the ins-and-outs of the Adlib Finance Team and processes. Contribute. You will be an active contributor to the Finance Team as we work towards a strategy to grow and scale the business. Collaborate. You will be a strong team member, supporting the work of the team wherever needed. Our new Accountant will have: The education. A diploma or degree in Business or Accounting. You have, or you are pursuing your CPA. The experience. Two years hands-on experience in a dynamic, scaling environment with a focus on accounts payable. ERP, CRM, PaaS or IaaS company experience is highly desired Exposure to Document/Content Management solutions would be a benefit The technical knowledge. You have hands-on experience with: Great Plains (preferably) or similar accounting system MS Excel (expert level) Adaptability and eagerness to grow and learn. You thrive in an ever-changing, hyper-growth work environment. You learn quickly and you are ambitious. Communication and relationship building skills. You will be the first point-of-contact for vendors as well as employees. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with anyone at any level. Why join Adlib?
